Joy of flowers

I do find such joy in flowers, and it’s wonderful being able to add some colour to the house and garden throughout the year.

I bought some mini pansies at the onion festival last week, and have just potted them up into three china tureens I have collected for just this purpose.

For now I’m enjoying them in the garden, but I shall probably bring them in the house when it gets too wet outside.

I also potted up some yellow chrysanthemums in my cast iron urns. They give a wonderful pop of colour.

I went and cut the last of my dahlias, well I think they are my last. They are starting to look a bit bedraggled in the dahlia bed.

A few finishing touches to the last few vases I want to fill, then I can place them around the house to enjoy for a few days more.

Simple, natural touches—the joy of flowers.
