We received an invite to maison Devaux for a private tasting of wines from producers around France.
It was a small select group, but a wonderful opportunity for us to taste wines from celebrated producers we know, such as Louis Jadot in Burgundy, and Chapoutier in the Côtes Du Rhône.
An interesting Bouzeron made with the Aligoté grape was interesting from Jadot, and the Mersault was an absolute classic! One we both really enjoyed, and sensibly priced.
Chapoutier offered a wide range of wines from simple, light Marsannes from the northern Rhône, to powerful Syrahs from Hermitage. We started with their whites but soon moved onto their reds, which again we really enjoyed.
All-in-all, a very pleasant morning in beautiful surroundings, well worth the visit.
