We have another new restaurant opened in our local town of Bar-sur-Seine, a Moroccan styled restaurant called La Palmeraie. We had a very enjoyable evening there with friends trying out their menu.
To start with, we had some brick pastry triangles, filled with minced beef, onions and spices. They were a big hit, although we could have eaten more.
We followed it up with a deliciously well-cooked tagine, mine was lamb, and Brian chose merguez. A large bowl of piping hot, cooking juice with chick peas was served separately. This was for spooning over your tagine to help soak into the couscous.
The service was excellent, very friendly, and helpful explaining the menu, although it was a limited choice. I often prefer this though, as it’s better to have well cooked, fresh, tasty food, than a prepared dish often stored in the freezer and warmed up.
