Good food
Our friends all left early this week to make their journeys home, leaving the house very quiet. The canicule across France was still providing pretty high temperatures, up in the mid 30’s, so we thought we’d just slow down for a couple of days and take a moment to soak up the sunshine. We love being wonderfully busy, but also like the idea of having a quiet day by the pool with a little picnic and a few bottles of beer.
The sun was intense, so we settled down for the afternoon enjoying the shade of the brolly. I was planning some new recipes to try out, thanks to my friends bringing me over some of my favourite recipe magazines, and Brian was trying to finish his summer read ‘Surface detail’ by Iain M Banks, it all sounds very odd when he tries to explain it to me, not at all like the happy little novels I like to read.
